Once upon a time part 16

In commemoration of the third year since the devastating floods in the Ahr Valley on the night of 15 July 2021, I installed the ROSA WOLKEN (Pink Clouds) series as part of the ‘Kunst im Ahrtal’ (Art in the Ahr Valley) initiative. I created a cloud-like sculpture landscape in the heart of the town of Sinzig, the idyllic Luna Park, and on the newly built Ahr Estuary Bridge. The installations at the various locations symbolised the invisible threads that connect people and places. Like ‘clouds of community’, both art locations embodied the idea of boundless unity: clouds know no physical barriers, move freely in the sky and connect different geographical locations, just as art brings together people from different walks of life.
