Once upon a time Part 17

Over time, the Once upon a time… series underwent various material expansions. One of the reasons was winning the ARTELAGUNAPRIZE Special Prize and the associated stay in Sicily as part of an artist-in-residence programme. Here, in July 2025, I came into contact with a traditional agricultural company that cultivates over 30,000 olive, almond and fruit trees.

During the ongoing process, it became clear on site that the material should not only be compacted with wire mesh, but also with used water hoses from the traditional irrigation systems on site. My large and small installations, as well as sculptures, also use cement and concrete, reflecting the soil conditions of the island.
